Longridge Mountaineering Club has a membership of about 20 people and is based near Preston in Lancashire. It is very informal and friendly.

Evening local walking meets are held fortnightly during the summer with day meets on the first Sunday of each month throughout the year. The day meets tend to be in the Lake District or Yorkshire Dales with the occasional foray into Derbyshire or Wales.
Members arrange other, often longer meets, in the UK and abroad and invite other members to join them.

Most outings are mountain walks but with occasional more demanding outings including scrambling or climbing. The day meets are usually routes of 12 - 14 miles and 3,000 - 4,000 feet of height gain. Organisers navigate the routes and encourage others to participate or learn.  Participation at all levels is encouraged towards contributing to the club ethos.
